STUBBERS 2016 - Pupil Blog

13 Apr 2016

From 13th - 15th April, pupils in Year 5 went on their annual residential trip to Stubbers Activity centre.  Below are messages and reflections throughout their time away.  Feel free to leave comments and replies that will be shared with the pupils each evening.

During their final hours of preparation, year 5 have been sharing thoughts on what they are excited about and which things they are more apprehensive about.  I wonder how these will change over the next few days...

NIGHT NIGHT (11.30pm - 13th April)

Evening all.  After only 5 hours at Stubbers the children had tired themselves out so much that all is quiet in Maple Lodge, apart from a few snores!  We had a hearty evening meal, followed by sports and games in the playground – even a game of football with Mr Bishop (“who was better than we thought at playing, and surprised us all” Michael).  We rounded off the brief evening with some indoor games, snacks and a DVD for some (plus watching the final few minutes of West Ham loosing against Man Utd!).  We are all looking forward to our early morning wake up call at 6.30am for a 5km jog around the lakes
I’m SO tired after the first night at STUBBERS!  I’m in bed writing this and am looking forward to all the activities tomorrow!  From Michael
It has been amazing and we have not even done any activities!  Can’t wait for tomorrow… Dillon
So far it has been a very good holiday and it’s very fun! Love Harry
Hi dad, it’s been so fun so far.  I hope you are having a good time too. From Rocco
I miss you mum soooo much. Love from Charlie xxx
I miss my family lots too… Jasmin and Sky xx

What an amazing start to the day we have had at Stubbers!!  a 6.30am jog around the lakes, cooked English breakfast, then 2 fun activities in the blazing sun!  Your comments to the pupils were read out during breakfast and provided us with the energy boost we needed - thank you.  To keep you going until this evenings update we have put some pupil reflections on the activities so far below.  Please check the updated Flickr album for photos from this morning, and leave comments underneath.

Hey,  Alex I’m  having a great time ,and doing lots of cool activities, tell mum I am doing Canoeing and Talent show later. xoxoxoxoxo

Hi mum,  I have been missing you with all my heart.  We have been having a great time.  This morning I went to the high ropes which was scary but really fun – I wanted to do it again.  Then I went to orienteering which was ok.  This afternoon is my turn for canoeing and I can’t wait!  Love you always, Nia xxx
Mum, it has been a wonderful time.  I feel out of the canoe!!  I’m having such a good time and I hope you are too. From Dillon
Mum and dad, I’ve had an amazing time this morning.  A few of us fell out of the boat when we went canoeing (including me!).  I hope you’re having a good time like I am.  We have a telnet show and bonfire tonight – really looking forward to these.  Love from Michael xxx
To mum and dad, the day started with an amazing breakfast.  Then we went orienteering before going canoeing.  Dillon fell in!! looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Love from Harry.

A huge thank you to all the brilliant Brady staff who joined us tonight for our bonfire!  We had lots of fun around the fire and then enjoyed singing, dancing, comedy, and starange interviews during the talent show.  Now at 10pm they are all suitably exhausted and in bed!!  Hooray.  Hopefully no 1.30am wakeup calls tonight...  Anyway here's some reflections from your loved ones to get you through your final night apart!

Mum and dad, and sisters, You’re the best family ever!  Jas and I are having so much fun!!  Love you lots, Ashleen.
Family, I am enjoying my time here – it is amazing.  Love you sooo much. Liepa.
To my family, I am having so much fun.  I liked the canoeing the most.  Love you, Ema.
To Emily, Mum and Dad. I am missing you guy’s sooo much. And once you pick me up I will give you a great, great squeeze! Also the canoeing was awesome! Our team played 2 games called amoeba and domination! We also done the high wires and orienteering and team challenges. There’s so many sweets my class mates brought in as well. Lots of love ADAM. P.
