Week 3
25 Jan 2019
Literacy
In Literacy this week, we have been editing and improving our biographies. We have ensured to use cohesive devices and parenthesis in our work. We will now be focusing on persuasive writing, by writing a letter in role of Anne Boleyn begging Henry VIII not to execute us.
Maths
We encorporated algebra into measurements of area. Then we converted between units of measurement and later in the week applied this learning to multi step problems. The children worked hard at this but will need to keep practising to ensure this knowledge is retained.
Topic
In Geography, we used google maps to locate cities of the UK. We also looked at the physical and human features of these cities.
Thank you to all of the parents who attended shared learning! The children loved having you here and we hope you enjoyed it also. For those of you unable to attend, we have attached photos of the activity.
We also have a new exciting addition to our teaching team in year 5... Mr East (yes, really). He will be training with Year 5 for the next 8 weeks.
We hope you have a lovely weekend
Regards,
Mr East.
