Word Detectives

The children have been busy creating their rainforest over the half term. We have had some very creative rainforest: with twinkling stars, an environmentally conscience rainforest raising the issue of deforestation.
Word detectives – this week in year 5 we have focused on how to improve our writing by using dictionaries and thesauruses to improve our vocabulary. Children have looked at common homophones that are often misused and how to use hyphens correctly.
In maths children have focused on using formal written methods for multiplication and division.
We have been learning about the Easter story and its significance to Christianity.
