English: This week in English we have been mostly looking at Charles Causley’s poem What Has Happened to Lulu? We have written letters to our younger siblings as Lulu to say we are okay, where we have gone and what we are doing. Charles Causley is famous for mostly writing ballads. In ballads you use a refrain which is when you repeat a word. By Martha
Science: This week in year 5 we were scientists! We split into groups and made yucky alien soup. First we all added a full tea spoon of sand and salt. Next, we dropped in 10 paperclips. After, we added rice, poured in 100ml of water and gave it a good stir. Our task was to separate the soup’s ingredients. We had a bowl, spoon, sieve and magnet.
