Aut 2 Week 2- Pandas!
10 Nov 2016
This week in Literacy we are beginning to learn about non-fiction texts. We have been learning all about pandas. Where they live, what they eat, why they might become extinct and what facts we know and can write about them. The main focus this week in our writing is making sure we use finger spaces, fit more words along a line and make sure our presentation is neat.
In maths we have been very busy using all of our fingers to revise, recognise, write and reason how to find number bonds to 5, 6, 7, 10 and 20 using different pairs of numbers. We have been doing this using lots of different strategies including fingers, whiteboards, number lines and putting a number in our heads and counting on.
In science we are learning how to tell what material an object is made from and what words we can use to describe their properties.
In PE this week we really enjoyed getting out the aparatus for the first time in Year 1. We were all very sensible and loved experimenting with different ways to travel using different parts of our body.
A reminder to all parents/carers to label children's clothing in particular coats and ties please. Next Wednesday is individual class photo day in the morning.
Enjoy the pictures!
