Whales and snails...
Mrs Divall and Mrs Zaayman - 16 Jan 2019
Dear all,
This week we have been learning about whales. It’s been very exciting! We have written amazing sentences about whales…and actually, about an octopus too!
In maths, we have been using dominos to create simple addition sentences and we have also been practising writing numbers correctly between 1-10. Lots of children find this super tricky so it might be nice to have a bit of a practise at home to support this learning.
We have read the story of the snail and the whale and we are making snails this afternoon to sit on our whales tail. We have also used a variety of media to create beautiful fish to add to our new maths display.
The children have particularly enjoyed playing with technological toys outside and role playing shops and parents 'working from home.' They have enjoyed playing with sea creatures in the water tray, playing with the huge new box of duplo and some also chose to play dominos with Mrs Agates. It's been a great week so far.
Next week, we are learning about sharks! We are going to learn some surprising facts. If you would like to over the weekend, please focus your homework on sharks. Any pictures, photos, fact sheets or books your child brings in about sharks can be added to our shark display.
Kind regards,
Mrs Divall and Mrs Zaayman.
