Edible delights

15 Feb 2016

There have been so many festivities and celebrations this week: Chinese New Year, Shrove Tuesday and Valentines.
After learning about Shrove Tuesday and Lent during RE children made pancakes this week using their maths skills measuring ingredients and following a recipe. It was good to see that children made healthy choices for their filling, incorporating their science learning.
To celebrate Chinese New Year children made healthy spring rolls, filled with carrots and courgettes.
In maths children have investigated square numbers and prime numbers.
We have finished reading Oranges in No Man’s Land. Children have enjoyed reading the text and produced well written stories from the point of view of Samar.
Wishing you a happy half term.
