Year 3 Week 4
24 May 2019
Last Friday we had a fantastic time on our trip to the Natural History Museum! The children were really well behaved and enjoyed looking around the museum and watching the volcano and earthquake show.
Literacy
This week the children finished their firework advertising posters and they looked great. They have been working really hard to improve their writing and to use ambitious vocabulary.
Maths
In Maths Year 3 have been learning to add and subtract fractions with the same denominator. The children grasped this concept very quickly! We have also been finding equivalent fractions but this appeared to challenge the children much more, although they still tried their best.
Topic
In topic the children have been learning about earthquakes and the damage that they can cause. We listened to an earthquake siren and learned what people were advised to do if there was an earthquake. Next half term our new topic will be Predator. Throughout this topic we will be learning about food chains, fossils, plants and skeletons.
Have a great week off and a well deserved rest!
