Year 3 Week 4
21 Mar 2019
Literacy
This week we have been continuing to write a Stone Age boy story and the children have been working really hard to ensure that our sentences are interesting. They have been improving their sentences by including adjectives, fronted adverbials, conjunctions and adverbs.
Maths
In maths we have been focusing on answering word problems using our skills of multiplying and dividing to help us. The children enjoyed this challenge and homework has been sent home for extra practice.
Topic
This week we have continued to learn about the Stone Age. We have been discussing how they were hunter-gatherers in the Old Stone Age and started farming in the New Stone Age. We considered how this improved and damaged the environment. Next, the children will be learning about the animals that roamed in the Stone Age and they will create their own woolly mammoths using recycled materials.
Next week is assessment week and the children have been working hard leading up to this. On Thursday morning it is our class assembly and we look forward to seeing you there.
