Year 3 Week 6
14 Feb 2019
I would like to thank the parents that attended our shared learning on Wednesday and those that sent in boxes to make this possible. We all had great fun making our cars. The children came up with some brilliant designs and even found ways to overcome problems that they had faced when testing how their cars worked. Once they had finished their cars they were able to test these on ramps that were covered in different surfaces to investigate which surface created the least or most friction.
Maths
In maths this week the children have started to gain a really good understanding of how to tell the time. We even moved on to converting the time from digital to analogue and solving word problems focused on time. The children have worked so hard on this concept and I am really proud of them for this.
Literacy
In literacy this week the children finished their recounts about visiting the Science Museum. Then, we focused on writing a persuasive letter to Hogarth’s father, as a farmer from the ‘Iron Man’. The children began to think of a solution that they could persuade Hogarth’s father to undertake in order to solve the issue that the ‘Iron Man’ was causing.
Have a lovely half term!
