Year 3 Week 5

What a busy week! We had a great time on our trip to the Science Museum on Wednesday. It was a long journey on the train but the children’s behaviour was fantastic and they enjoyed the ‘Feel the Force’ show. I would like to thank the parents again who came to help us on our trip.
Literacy
In literacy this week the children finished planning their newspaper reports ready for their ‘hot write’ that took place on Tuesday. Next week we will be writing persuasive letters to Hogarth’s father convincing him to think of another plan to help the Iron Man.
Maths
In maths the children collected data in a tally chart to find out how we all travelled to school. Once we had collected the data, we represented this in a pictogram. After, we answered questions about pictograms and the children did really well. Next week we will be focusing on time again.
Topic
On Monday afternoon, the children carried out an investigation to discover which substance would clean a tarnished penny. The children were really engaged and were excited to see the results!
