Legends in year 3
16 Feb 2016
This week in year 3 the children have particularly enjoyed learning about legends. Last week we read the story of St George and the Dragon. This week we looked at the story 'The Beast with 1000 Teeth' and discussed features of legends. The children used last week's homework in class to write descriptions of their own mythical creature that could be in a legend. I was particularly impressed with Samuel's work which you can read below:
'My beast's name is Lustor. My beast has a long, slimy tongue that grabs at anything it wants. Sharp, deadly horns that drool with blood. Lustor has hair as his clothes and bloody gums. Lustor smells like rotten acid. Lustor sounds like a volcano errupting. He sometimes makes his prey suffocate slowly like a snake or he can breathe acid on them then eat them! Lustor eats people that disturb him. The people are afraid of him because he can breathe acid on them.'
He sounds terrifying! I think year 3s legends will be very interesting with the creatures they have created!
I hope you all have a fantastic half term break.
