Firework week
07 Nov 2015
As you will see from the Autumn 2 newsletter, the children have some new topics this half term. In science we have started with the question - How will 5 a day help to keep us healthy? The children considered what we need every day from food to rest. I did suggest going to bed at 6 o clock but I'm not sure this was very popular!
In literacy we have been working with conjunctions and a story about Billy who has lots of worries. In maths we have been adding and subtracting 10, 20 30 etc without counting in 1s and went shopping for fireworks!
We created firework pictures on Wednesday which have made a very attractive display so come and have a look. There are fiery fountains, roaring rockets, sizzling sparklers and my favourite whizzing wheels. We also created our own firework poems.
For homework you will see the children can now use the Abacus website. I have put the details in their homework books and showed the children how to access it. Let me know how they get on or if there are any problems. It works best with Google Chrome and should work on laptops and tablets.
Class Dojo winners were Grace and Daria. Enjoy the fireworks this weekend.
