Who was Mary Seacole?

01 Oct 2015

This week in maths we have been exploring shapes and some new mathematical vocabulary- symmetry, tessellation and right angles.
In literacy our book was This is the bear about a rather mean dog who tries to get rid of a bear by pushing him in the bin! We have been working on writing questions and retelling the story using different sentence starters. We also really worked hard at not  getting any pinks when Mrs A marked our books.
In topic work we found out about a very brave woman called Mary Seacole who helped wounded soldiers during the Crimean war.
Here is Grace's picture of her in action!
In science we have been finding out about pets and how to care for them. Our pets include cats, dogs, guinea pigs, chickens, turtles and snakes!
Class dojo winners are Brooke S, Layla and Ria. This is the second time for 2 of the girls. Fantastic!

Naughty dog, poor bear. Good dog for finding the bear again. Well done Kayden for getting no stinky pinks. Mary Seacole was a brave lady. great picture grace and everyone who wrote, drew and read about Mary Seacole.
