What's been happening in Year 2 this week?

13 Sep 2015

We have been very busy this week in all areas of the curriculum. In literacy we have read a story about a pig who gets very hot and jumps in the pond and the children have enjoyed some very  funny poems which are some of my favourites.
In maths we have been using the 100 square for finding 10 more, rounding to the nearest ten and ordering nuumbers.
We started our science topic on classifying different creatures. Is a crocodile a mammal?  Is a hippo an amphibian? In topic work we had a story about Cameron who was a bit different to everyone else and we discussed treating everyone with respect.

We are using dojo points in class and our two highest scorers this week were Ryan and Brooke S. What a fantastic start to year2.
