Welcome to 2015

Welcome to the start of a new year and a new term.

Please do not forget to read this terms whats happening in year 1 letter.

The children have settled and already enjoying the new learning challenges that have been introduced to them.

The week beginning 12/1/15
The children will be learning:
Maths: describing properties of 2D shapes, exploring shape patterns and begining to learn fractions starting with half. (Learning that both halves must be exactly equal)

Literacy: The 3 Billy Goats Gruff
writing a character description of the troll using adjectives and retelling the story with an option to write an alternative ending.

The children have been introduced to the new topic'Why cant a meer cat live in the North Pole?' They have asked many questions including 'What is an igloo?' This week we will be looking at igloos. 

As a class we will be building an igloo using plastic milk bottles.
Please help us by sending in your empty plastic milk bottles.
Don't forget to wash them out. Thank you

Year 1 will be visiting Rainham library on Thursday afternoon. If you are intersted in joining us, please see me by Wednesday.
